Getting started

Cost-sharing, not commercial driving.

Triply operates under India's cost-sharing framework. Drivers are private individuals sharing fuel, toll, and wear-and-tear costs with fellow travellers heading the same way — not running a commercial taxi service.

  • RC, insurance, and PUC certificate for your vehicle
  • Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, or PAN)
  • A smartphone with internet access
Driver FAQs

Questions, answered.

How much can I earn as a Triply driver?

Triply is a cost-sharing platform, not a commercial taxi service. Drivers recover fuel and toll costs by splitting them with passengers. Typical cost recovery per intercity trip ranges from ₹800 to ₹2,500 depending on route distance and number of passengers. You cannot set prices above cost recovery — this keeps the platform legal under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Do I need a commercial driving licence?

No. Since Triply operates on cost-sharing (not for profit), you use your personal vehicle and personal driving licence. Commercial permits are only required if you're operating as a taxi service, which Triply is not.

What vehicles are accepted?

Any private 4-wheeler with valid RC, insurance, and PUC certificate. Vehicles must be less than 15 years old for diesel (or 20 years for petrol, per NGT guidelines for NCR; other states may vary) and in roadworthy condition. We do not currently accept 2-wheelers or commercial vehicles.

When do I receive my share of the fare?

Passenger payments are held by Triply and released to your linked UPI or bank account within 24 hours of trip completion, once the passenger confirms the ride was completed safely.

What if a passenger cancels last minute?

Cancellation policies apply based on how close to departure the cancellation happens. Drivers receive partial compensation for late cancellations. See our full Cancellation Policy.

Who pays for tolls?

Tolls are included in the per-seat fare calculation by default. You can customise this per route in your driver settings.

Am I insured during Triply rides?

Your personal car insurance policy applies. Triply provides supplementary trip protection that covers passenger injury in the rare case of an accident, subject to terms. Check your private motor insurance to confirm cost-sharing carpool rides are not excluded.

Can I refuse a passenger?

Yes. You can review any passenger's profile, rating, and trip history before accepting their booking. You cannot refuse a passenger based on caste, religion, gender, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic, in line with our Community Rules.
